Buddhism gains much of its influence from the principle that their teachings were founded by enlightened masters, but how do we know that they were enlightened? They must have told people, but an enlightened teacher would not do this, because it would cause his personality to distract from the teachings. A good teacher does not teach his personality. The means that the fact that they are reputed to be enlightened proves that they were not enlightened.
May She be with you,
David.
