The original state of existence is a realm of perfect archetypes in harmony with the Mother. Some of these fell from perfection into the material world, which is a diminished reflection of the real world. All human qualities are reflections of archetypal principles. The fall is a gradual process descending through progressively denser forms of matter. The return to the Spirit is made possible by ordering all material things to reflect the Spirit as purely as possible. This is done through the matriarchal order in which women reflect the creative power of the Mother. As the fall progresses, women lose their strength and men become stronger.
When the matriarchal order ended, matriarchy became a secret tradition within patriarchy, and knowledge of spiritual principles filtered out into patriarchy. An important element in this was the Mysteries of Eleusis, from which a lot of knowledge was brought into patriarchal traditions. Death and resurrection myths originate from myths about descending into the Underworld, of which the earliest known is the Sumerian Descent of Inanna, dating to about 2,000 BCE, and are closely related to the myth of Hercules becoming a god on death.
May She be with you,
David.
