Dear friends,
When you pray to an image of Our Lady, the form of the statue is reflected back on your own body, so that, by concentrating on various points of the statue, we concentrate on our psychic centres. When praying, we really want all of our psychic centres active at once, so we have to concentrate on the complete form of the statue, but we can have emphasis on a particular point. The best points are the point at the centre of the forehead, which is the source of greatest light, and the point between the eyebrows, which is a source of great energy. These two give us the light which activates the other centres. Which is better depends on our state at a particular time. Some people do best to go straight to the spirit, but some need to develop the concentration and will to do so.
I said in a previous posting that I thought that the third eye was not in the middle of the forehead, but between the eyebrows. I thought this because of the greater energy and control of the point between the eyebrows. I now realise that the light comes stronger from the middle of the forehead. The reason for the mistake was because I did not realise it came from a small point.
Be aware that in our prayers we are talking to Our Lady. Concentrate on the talking at the same time as you concentrate on the statue.
If no better can be found, a statue of the Virgin Mary will do.
May She be with you
David.
