Channel 4 has seen fit to launch its first Christmas advert this year , an advert where the British television network very cleverly condenses its extravagant personality, alien to the archetypes and political correctness of other channels and also the inimitable eccentricity of the year 2020. "#MerryDifferent" (that's the name of Channel 4's new feature) brings together characters associated with multiple festivities (the Easter bunny, Cupid, the St. Patrick's Day leprechaun, the tooth fairy and the typical Halloween ghost) who They animatedly discuss Santa Claus's possible cancellation of Christmas. All the characters put ideas on the table so that Christmas ends up being celebrated after all and despite the multiple overlapping restrictions to the coronavirus . The Easter Bunny suggests, for example, that children should make an effort to find their (conveniently hidden) gifts and not just find them next to the tree.
The tooth fairy believes that Christmas should revolve around teeth (those that come off the teeth) and Cupid is convinced that Santa Claus should show off greater sex appeal. The pancake emphasizes that, although everyone summoned there is different, difference can also bring good things (in reference to the atypical Christmas that is just around the corner). The fun Channel 4 spot was signed by 4Creative , the network's in-house creative team, directors Jeff Low and David Kolbusz (who is CCO of Droga5 London) and the production company Biscuit Filmworks. “Channel 4 is here to make sure all alternative voices are heard and reflect a modern and inclusive Britain,” explains Zaid Al-Qassab, CMO of Channel. “We believe our quirky family of holiday mascots is a "A timely reflection on the diversity of many British families in dealing with the difficult circumstances of the current festive season," he adds.
